Playing the waiting game

My first day off work for what seems like an eternity. 'Tis a joy getting up first and getting my son dressed, if for nothing other than being ostricised for what you've put on him! Anything to spread a smile and elongate a joke.

My second child is due any day now and it's weird playing the waiting game. If men could have babys then it would have been born 4 months ago and it would be making the family dinner by now! Honest!

You always think the inevitable thoughts when you're expecting a child: what type of world am I bringing this child into? With trouble brewing in the middle east again, America and the UK enjoying creating as many enemies as possible and the ever popular topic of discussion which is...dumdahrumdum... LE CREDIT CRUNCH.

My personal opinion on this being that the credit crunch is offering the world a chance to redeem itself. On humane and environmental levels we can wipe the slate clean and live for the earth and for one another. Create a new system not dependent on money but on nurturing the world, our children, our neighbours and our local communities. If only we had sway and influence and we could create that utopia we all crave.

However, as the saying goes: one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter, so goes that one man's utopia is another man's hell. We all know best for ourselves and think we know whats best for the world in general. It's impossible to fully understand another culture and think that we could better that way of living. I even would go as far to say that us in the west coast of Scotland wouldn't know whats best for those on the east coast. In other words; think and act local for the benefit of yourself and your neighbours and goodness and selfless acts will spread the world over.

You may think that I've deviated away from my original topic, converseley, that is not the case I can assure you dear friends. This is my utopia I would love to bring my children into and I would want for my friends, family and colleagues.

It is a worrying time in the history of our world, however, I also believe that the human race is maturing and evolving and I pray that truely is the case.

So lets all wait and see how the world responds, hopefully as one, and let's make life as simple for one another as humanly possible!
